Global businesses are no longer coming to India for its low-cost labour but to access its highly skilled workforce, Rishad Premji, executive chairman of IT services provider Wipro, said.
The Indian IT industry, he said, contributes 8% of the country’s GDP, rising from less than 1% around 30 years ago.
